I got to stay with Madeline and Robyn in Albany, and this was a day that changed my life forever. I cooked us up some glazed salmon as a thank you, and spent the first day playing smash and watching skate videos. This was the first time I was introduced to Cher Strauberry and There Skateboards. It was like the first time I saw someone skate and decided I wanted to do that. Seeing queer skating ignited a fire within me that was begging to be fanned, and we spent the next few days skating. It was okay. It was okay that I was queer and trans and skate boarding in a dress. It was okay.

Fall was arriving soon.
